If you hear of an outbreak of an epidemic in a land, do not enter it; but if the plague breaks out in a place while you are in it, do not leave that place.

Concept Of Quarantine:

Quarantine simply means imposing strict Isolation for a certain period of time to prevent the spread of contagion from an infected person to a healthy population.

According to the CDC (Centre for Disease Control & Prevention), the concept of Quarantine means:
The separation of a person or group of people known or reasonably believed to be infected with a communicable disease and potentially infectious from those who are not infected to prevent the spread of the communicable disease. Isolation for public health purposes may be voluntary or compelled by federal, state, or local public health order.

As the Coronavirus outbreak is accelerating, it has pushed down most of the countries and global health bodies to their knees.

The only option available as of now to combat the spread of COVID-19 and most of the affected countries focussed on is 'separating the infected people from the healthy one' by imposing restriction of movement or complete lockdown (A practical approach of getting the mass Quarantined).

And also according to the experts like immunologist Dr Anthony Fauci and medical reporter Dr Sanjay Gupta, good hygiene and Quarantining are the most effective tool to combat the spread of this epidemic (COVID-19).

This what exactly the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) told us much much before the world is practising today.

Had the world followed the advice of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by restricting the movement of population to and from the point of the epicentre of the pandemic a few days back, this deadly virus would not have affected this much portion of the population.
