Some of those slogans are still being used by the Indians to instil the sense of patriotism among the fellow citizens be it under the canopy of an army or in a political rally or on the stage during Independence day & republic day celebrations.
Here are those top 5 patriotic slogans coined by Muslim freedom fighters of India:
- The famous slogan "Jai Hind" was given by Abid Hassan.
- Maulana Hasrat Mohani's slogan "Inquilab Zindabad" is more famous than his own identity.
- Slogans "Simon Go Back" & "Quit India" were coined by none other than Yusuf Meher Ali.
- "Sarfaroshi Ki Tamanna, Ab Hamare Dil Mein Hai", a patriotic poem later used as a slogan was written by Bismil Azimabadi.
- The famous poem "Saare Jahan Se Achha" later used as a slogan to instil patriotism was written by Allama Iqbal.
Wasn't the slogan of Jai Hind coined by Shubash Chandra Bose?
We were always taught that Shubhash Chandra Bose of Azad Hind Fauz or INA used the slogan of Jai Hind during the freedom struggle and at the same time we went ahead with the presumption that it must have been coined by him.
But to our surprise, the fact tells us something different. The slogan of Jai Hind was given by his Muslim associate, Abid Hassan (as mentioned above), a son of a collector from Hyderabad.
The book "Lengendotes of Hyderabad" mentions that Abid Hassan left his engineering study in Germany to join the Indian National Army (INA) of Subhash Chandra Bose.
Conclusion:
Hardly we find these Muslim freedom fighters being credited for these famous slogans by any popular sources or historical books.
Whatever may be the reason for this but, you at least can do your bit to tribute them for their works by sharing this post with your friends.
